The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caraga presented its Year 1 accomplishments during the DOSTโSARAI Congress held on April 13 to 15, 2026 via Zoom.
Covering the period from May 2025 to April 2026, the presentation highlighted key milestones in the implementation of the Project SARAI CeNTRO across the region.
Led by Assistant Regional Director for Field Operations, Mr. Ricardo N. Varela, the team shared progress on strengthening partnerships and expanding the reach of SARAI initiatives.
Project Technical Assistant III, Mr. Lembert Neil Ayta, presented the accomplishments through an audio-visual presentation. Among the highlights were the partnerships with local government units and stakeholders, which helped bring project activities closer to communities. The report also emphasized efforts to build local capacities through training activities and to improve how SARAI technologies are shared with farmers and agricultural extension workers.
These efforts mean that farmers are not left guessing when to plant or how to respond to changing weather. With better access to information, they can make clearer decisions in their day to day farming activities, leading to more stable and reliable outcomes for their livelihood.
