Two personnel from Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caraga participated in a three-day Capacity-Building Workshop on Crop Advisory Generation, held from March 2 to 4, 2026 at the DOST โ Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) in Los Baรฑos, Laguna.
The training equipped Engr. Noneth Labastilla and Engr. Russel John Chee with the skills to assist LGUs in developing their own localized crop advisories for farmers.
Participants learned how to generate timely, location-specific advisories using weather data, crop condition information, and field observations. These advisories aim to help farmers make informed decisions in managing their crops.
Once implemented, the advisories will enable LGUs to provide science-based guidance to farmers, supporting improved agricultural productivity and climate resilience in their communities.
