Two personnel from Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caraga participated in a three-day Capacity-Building Workshop on Crop Advisory Generation, held from March 2 to 4, 2026 at the DOST \u2013 Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) in Los Ba\u00f1os, Laguna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training equipped Engr. Noneth Labastilla and Engr. Russel John Chee with the skills to assist LGUs in developing their own localized crop advisories for farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants learned how to generate timely, location-specific advisories using weather data, crop condition information, and field observations. These advisories aim to help farmers make informed decisions in managing their crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once implemented, the advisories will enable LGUs to provide science-based guidance to farmers, supporting improved agricultural productivity and climate resilience in their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
